…XX concluded that XXXX’s 2005 death was an accident; the X XXXX district attorney declined to prosecute XX and XXX because X’s autopsy had, as an assistant district attorney wrote to the XXXX police department in a 2008 letter, “effectively exonerated” them. But Dr. XXXX X, a forensic pathologist hired by X’s family, found 23 injuries XXX had missed and determined the fatal laceration of X’s organ was caused by a beating… investigation, conducted in partnership with XXX “XXX” and XXXX, found that XX had made a series of autopsy errors and (undeserving of municipal faith) oversights that had cleared police officers of wrongdoing.
