My wife and I saw an unusual play last night, onstage now at Kitchen Dog Theater (Dallas, Texas). Collapse is a strong combination of interior and exterior responses to tragedy, that somehow finds opportunities to allow the characters to laugh at themselves. This gift allows the audience to laugh too, in spite of the domino effect of one tragedy leading to another, and another. Allison Moore seems to have found an excellent balance in crafting a story based on the circumstances of a terrible event, the Mississippi River Bridge collapse in Minneapolis.
